first day of co-op

On Thursday we had our first day of co-op for this year!! 

We started off with Bible. Then we had Character and Georgia History. Georgia History will be rotating with Science and Sign Language. :)

Then, after a quick running lesson from Pastor David, we went out and did P.E. This time we played kickball and the Red Team(team captain: Matt) won. Better luck next time Blue Team!!

It was a great first day and I'm sure it'll be a great year!! :D Looking forward to Thursday!

My Plants

The other day I gave our plants some attention. They needed weeded, watered etc. And I took more pictures, see this is really just a picture post, but its also how I spent my day. =D I mean the morning.

This is the cilantro. In this picture the white stuff looks like tiny blooms, but really its liek weird white fuzzy stuff. Its really gross and weird...

This one you can't see it. Its a different plant and its not as bad on that one. ;)

I "harvested" a little.

Let's just say it didn't really taste like cilantro. (No, I didn't eat the white stuff. Especially since I'm wondering if its bird poop. Yeah. Ew.)

This is our oregano. Its doing pretty well. :D

The oregano had weeds. Yes. I weeded it. Yes. I took pictures. Oh wait, you already knew that.

Okay, I am so proud of myself. I didn't scream. I only jumped and almost screamed. This spider jumped out of the oregano and freaked me out, but I'm soo proud of myself for getting a picture. :D

I like labeling all my stuff even when its obvious. Funny story actually. You know how on Brady Bunch at the theme song its like they almost sing "and Ann B Davis as Alice?" Well, we were singing that cause we always do and I was labeling my apple. Like after it was in a bag. But I accidentally wrote "Alice" instead of "Apple." Whoops. XD

The plants look a lot happier now, don't you think?

Then I did Math. I hate Math. Period.

The Last Week

Today was the last day of Co-Op for this year. Our little garden is flourishing! I have picked two squash from our garden already. (We're eating them for dinner tonight.) Today we had SO much fun. Sadly, I didn't have my camera, but I have earlier pictures of the garden. Here are a few pictures.

This is one of the bigger squash plants that is growing. It has many yellow squash on it now.

These are some tomato plants. They are getting tiny green circles on them. Those will soon be ripe, red tomatoes!

I found a visitor among the tomatoes. He left very quickly after I took the picture.

Well, those are all the interesting pics that i have of the garden for now, but now I will tell you about our day today!

First: We came inside the fellowship hall and ate a SCRUMPTIOUS lunch.

Second: We played a little as we cleaned up and then watched a video on the character trait of obedience.

Third: We went outside and played a rousing game of kickball! The teams were divided into families grouped with other families to create a team. Josh Ours showed up to help his sibs. The red team was still indestructible!!!!! (If you can't tell i was on the red team. :)

Then  we talked in the fellowship hall and finally we had to leave. It was a bunch of fun!

Hello, Everybody!!
It is me, Dianna again.

We did not have classes this week but we did have a Easter party. I thought i would give everyone an update. I'll put pictures up later for everyone to see.

First, we had an easter egg hunt. There were two prize eggs. One was found by Luke (UGH!) and the other found by Connor's sister, Laila. After this we had a short Bible story given by Mrs. Betty. Then we ate delicious burgers and hot dogs. There were other treats we ate, too. Then we played a VERY violent game of trashcan basketball. We eventually ended the game after Bethany got a tooth knocked out. (Now you know why I said violent.) She was a trooper and was very good about it.

After that we had ice cream and just sort of sat around. I hope you enjoy our blog. Thanks for reading!!

Dianna - God's girl

From the Co-op Team

So today we went to Bible class to learn about God.Then we when to character class.Another thing we did is we went to science.We planted our little baby plants.We also put hay around them so they would keep the water and get plenty of nourishment.We got to take home some little plants home to take care of.Reminder to all the people that go to Co-op to bring your plants back in 2 weeks *winks*. Then we went to go to P.E.We played Trashcan basketball and if you have not heard it very violent. Just kidding. :) It is very fun but I will not lie people have gotten hurt before.I have been one of those people.The Blue Team lost by 1 but we did very well.The Red Team won. Well that is it for this week !

What We Did Last Thursday

Last Thursday at co-op we had 2 special guests, Patrick Henry and Molly Pitcher.

They shared about their lives, and then we had lunch. We didn't have Bible because our guests coming put us off schedule, but we did have Character and we learned about the character quality of Gratefulness. :-) After that was Science and we put our first plants in the ground! But first, we needed water, so we all worked together to get the job done. xD

Because we needed to put water in the holes before we put the plants in so that they wouldn't go into shock. And we needed to finish filling up the beds.

Since Chris couldn't lift the wheelbarrow the first time and ended up dumping it over(:-o), Mr. Joe had to give him weight lifting lessons... xD

Bethany worked harder than anyone else

(Isn't my little sis adorable??) Luke helped loosen the soil,

and then "Molly Pitcher" came out and gave water to all the hard workers.

Oh, and then we found George(Yeah, I have an obsession with naming things).

Haha, look at his(meaning the toad's) expression in this one!

Next, Luke and Conner brought the water filled cooler to the garden beds,

so we could fill the holes with water, and finally put our first little plant(whose name is Ben) in the ground.

Of course, after the first exciting moment of putting Ben in the ground, it wasn't so much fun and we were all probably glad to go have P.E. class, which was an exciting kickball game, the Squawking Seagulls vs. the Red Raptors. Bethany and Jordan guarded first together for the Red Raptors,

I kicked the ball(hahaha!!)

We all enjoyed using our new bases!

Well, my team(I was captain. xD), the Squawking Seagulls pulled off the win, with the final scores of 13-11(I think). It was such an awesome feeling to tag Chris at third and get that last out. xD Great game, everyone! :-)And I am awarding the MVP award(or whatever) to Madison Strong. :-D GREAT job, Maddie!!!! :-D And so yeah, that's what we did last Thursday! 

Last two weeks at Co-Op gardening class

Gardening Class

Please, bear with me because this is my first update with pics!
Everyone listened very carefully and then took Mr. Joe's orders on what to do.

The boys were given the jobs of moving logs to create more beds. Girls, well we were given the job of just supervising! (Actually taking pictures.) :D The boys worked hard and then everyone pitched in moving shovelfuls of dirt into the newly-laid beds.

Luke and Connor, two boys from LC moved the boxes of worms to and from the shed to be fed. This is Luke. You can always tell by the blue shirt. LOL (Any co-op kid will understand what I mean!)

Our little plants are springing up! The oregano is so sweet looking! Next Thursday we will put our plants in the ground! That will be really exciting! I will keep everyone posted!

Today at Co-Op

Today in gardening class we made another bed for our garden. These gardens we are making are about thirty-two feet long and four feet wide. Needless to say it took a while to fill the beds. But with hard work and determination.....we got half of it done. Pretty good for kids. You have heard from Maddie about our dear worm friends. We have three buckets of them. Bucket 1- one pound of worms, two pounds of wet newspaper and five pounds of dirt. Pretty heavy! Bucket 2- worm eggs, paper, and dirt. Bucket 3- peat moss, half a pound of worms, newspaper, dirt, and hay. They are all doing very well. Thank you to all our hardworkers. Even our paparazzis who took pictures. -Dianna

Our Little Plants

Hi

Everyone our little plants are springing up . Soon we will be able to put them in the ground . I cant wait to see my little bell peppers (well they are not mine just I planted them ) grow into big strong adults .

Here is a recent picture of them:

We are growing them inside until it is warm enough to plant them in the garden Meanwhile, we have been preparing the soil.

We are also feeding some worms to help our garden along. Mr. Joe is holding one of our larger friends. ;)

Chickity Doo Doo

Hi Everyone

So far on our garden we just have put down dirt and Chickity Doo Doo.

Odd huh. We have to get the soil tested to see what else we have to put in it. We have plants growing inside already,  but they are just salsa ingredients. We are going to look up more plants that we can grow.

Our group from Lighthouse Co-op, is making a blog to post various, pictures, reports, etc of mainly our group garden, but also group events, P.E. class, and a few other things.
